In today’s world, silence feels like a fading photograph. Everywhere—digitally, at work, even in families—voices compete to be heard. Opinions take the wind out of the sails, often from the weakest ducks quacking the loudest.
In such times, I choose silence.
Not as weakness. Not as emptiness. But as strength.
The Healing Power of Silence
Silence is not absence—it is presence. It is the oil anointed by the King of the Cosmos, honored across religions, cultures, and leaders. Far from being void, silence is one of humanity’s strongest teachers.
It quiets the noise within, lowers stress, and restores balance. For me, this power became alive through early morning meditation.
When the world sleeps, silence wakes you. In those sacred hours, when I chant “Ram Ram”, I see a cocoon of light around me. I feel the presence of the protector, the nourisher, the shelter-giver—He who seeks only love and loyalty. It is in that silence I realized—no human deserves my expectations. Only the true power does.
Silence helps me see the snakes in the grass. It has taught me to stay calm, to play the waiting game, and to strike only when the iron is hot.
Silence Across Traditions
Buddhism calls it Noble Silence—beyond words, a space where right intention, right speech, and right mindfulness meet.
Hinduism calls it Tapas and Mauna Vrata—the vow of silence that disciplines the tongue and sheds the skin of ego. Saints embraced it for liberation.
In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna names silence as the guard of wisdom and the preserver of energy. It is also linked with goddesses themselves—Bagalamukhi with the tongue, Tripura Sundari with the stillness of mind.
Silence is not passive. It is Shakti.
With an intention of liberation and positivity, it allows practitioners to deeply internalize, create sacred space, and increase wisdom—something the lame ducks can never see.
A Living Experience
One place that revealed this truth to me is Shri Ram Sharnam, Panipat.
There, I saw the wealthy drop their egos and the powerful become humble. The energy of simply saying “Ram Ram ji” to fellow seekers fills the body with charge.
During japa and dhyana, when I felt my spiritual guides sitting beside me, it was as if heaven touched earth. That charge is the strength needed for the chaos of everyday life.
Silence in Relationships
Silence also transforms relationships. It deepens bonds without words. Even when friends drift apart, walking parallel roads, silence preserves the invisible thread.
I once shared a bond that became a distant memory, a forgotten landmark. Yet when eyes meet across those parallel paths, the silent message remains: you have my safety net.
That is the beauty of silence—it drills down to the ocean of truth.
Silence as Preparation for Growth
Silence is fertile soil. It prepares us for growth—whether in diet discipline, career journeys, or spiritual seeking. It restores clarity, protects energy, heals wounds, and liberates us from karmic loops.
But we often forget. We treat silence like a faded photograph. We, the lame ducks, forget we are only guests on this planet—sent for a short stay, to meet, to learn, and to leave when the time comes.
Silence is not emptiness. It is energy. It is strength. It is your deepest teacher.
When we embrace it, we align with the Father of the Universe—the one who purifies the fallen, who fights our unseen battles, who whispers: stay silent, stay steady, stay with Me.
